About
illumineerima is the Estonian word for “to illuminate.” It is the most fitting name I could think of that could be easily digested by English speakers. (illuminaireemah is a slightly more phonetic spelling.) It may seem like a lofty title for a blog, but I hope that my musings on Estonia and sharing my experiences here will shed some light on this strange, mysterious, wonderful country. I, by the way, am Rachel J. K. Grace, an American chick who’s been living in Estonia’s capital city, Tallinn, since 2006.
I can be reached via email. Write me if you’d like to meet for tea (or coffee, if you’re so inclined). You may also be interested in visiting my other blog: fade theory (about books, inside and out).
The header image was taken during a performance of EESTI: baalladid by Peeter Paasmäe. The theme I use here is based upon the Falling Dreams theme by Razvan Teodorescu.
